2 snow geese, 1 white, 1 blue amongst Canada geese. No sign of franklin's gull
between 2-430pm.
To reach Roth Park, take Vansittart north to Devonshire, east on Devonshire to
Huron, north on Huron to the lake.

ONTBIRDS is prese
Birders visiting Presqu'ile Provincial Park last weekend, especially on
Sunday, were treated to an amazing display of hordes of newly arrived
migrant birds, some of which have remained in subsequent days. In
addition, several birds have been seen in the Park on dates that are
later than expect

There was a fairly nice fallout of migrants at Thickson's Woods today. The
highlight was a Nelson's Sparrow just north of the path at the very south end
of the woods, right in behind my house. It was among fifty White-throated
Sparrows, thirty-five Dark-eyed Juncos and a
06.10.11 - at Reesor Pond 2pm - at juncture of N spit and the shore - found
1 Stilt and 2 Baird's Sandpipers at 30' + 1 Killdeer and 2 Greater Yellowlegs
- Reesor Pond lies just N of Hwy 407 on Reesor Road in Markham

At least 14 Hudsonian Godwits remain feeding at Shirley's Bay today along with
70+ White-rumped Sandpiper and 11 Black-bellied Plover. The overnight low
temperature, 0c, and clear, in the Ottawa area pushed a number of migrants
south including 8 Brant, 1 Surf Scoter, 1 Long-tailed D
Report for Wednesday 5 October 2011: Eight species of diurnal raptors
totaling 520 individuals were seen Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on very
light to moderate north winds.
