At about 9:30 this morning I observed and photographed a european
goldfinch at Humber Bay Park East in Toronto. It was associating with
a flock of American goldfinches and feeding actively. At that time the
flock was on the main trail between the first lagoon and the
easternmost developed pond.
Around noon today, Rob Dobos and I had a Pacific Loon mostly in breeding
plumage flying west off the foot of Victoria Avenue in Vineland. The bird did
land a few kilometres west of here so checking from the roads west of Victoria
may be worthwhile (Cherry Avenue or Maple Grove)

Saturday Oct 29th we had 3 bluebirds checking out the bluebird nest boxes on
our farm - flitting back and forth between fence, field and box - poking
their heads into the boxes, softly calling to each other and feeding.
Lasted for about an hour. We had not see bluebirds on the property since
Todayat 5pm I had another couple surprises come to my feeders in the
backyard. I had a Yellow-rumped Warbler and a Carolina Wren. I also saw
my first Dark-eyed Junco's of the season. I have put out more seed,
peanuts and a peanut suet to see if I can keep the Carolina Wren around .
If so I will
