I would like to thank all of the attendees at the wetlands this past weekend,
fun was had by all. We did have quite a few people who trying very hard to see
the Virginia Rail that they could hear, I am glad to say the Coots and Moore
hens were quite lively also

I have spent three evenings observing a scarlet tanager pair calling
territorially at 5pm-6pm on the north end of the old McKenny Road allowance.
This area makes for an absolutely excellent evening birding walk that traverses
several different habitats. An access road to an array of radio towe

starting at 5:30 am
and recorded 202 Whimbrels in 8 groups, all between 5:30 and 10:30 am.
Hope, a Whimbrel with a satellite transmitter, flew over Lake Ontario

On west beach - whimbrel, dunlin, ruddy turnstones, least and spotted
sand pipers.
Black and caspian terns and a kingfisher.
With a bit of luck all should be visible from the Erieau channel.

Hi All,
the Willet flew out of the harbour a couple of minutes after I got
down there to check on it. It was last seen leaving the harbour and heading
to the north. It may end up on the KFN property on Amhurst Island, it would
be worth checking out if you are out that way.

DIRECTIONS:
TAKE NORTH SHORE DRIVE, SOUTH FROM DUNNVILLE, PASS THROUGH
STROMNESS, AND TAKE THE FIRST ROAD RIGHT, RYMER ROAD, AND
HEAD WEST.
WHEN THE ROAD CURVES TO THE LEFT, DON'T TURN SOUTH ON SIDDALL ROAD,
CONTINUE WEST,

Hi All,
just had a Willet fly over the Observatory and it looked as
though it headed down into the harbour area. This is the first spring record
for
the National Wildlife Area.
Just heading down to the harbour to check it out.

This morning I heard a Connecticut Warbler singing on Forestry Island.
There is a map of the Islands at the Toronto end of the ferry docks and at each
of the three docks on The Islands.
Forestry Island is closest to the Centre Island ferry dock.

Hello Ontbirders,
Apologies for the late report. David O'Kines and I had a Connecticut Warbler
singing while doing the PEBO Bailey Bird-a-thon yesterday morning.
The bird sang within fifteen feet at the very edge of the vegetation on the
coastal side of the road about 100 meters south of the seco
Not many birders or reports for Tuesday, however 17 species of
warblers were reported.
The yellow throated warbler is no longer going to the feeder at the
cottage bur is being seen in trees along the road near the visitor
centre.

Plovers;
