Simply an exhaustive day on the Lake Erie
Birders have been kept busy at Presqu’ile Provincial Park this week searching
for oceanic birds that may have been blown inland by the hurricane. Though
that search has not yet yielded the expected results, the effort did produce a
rare bird yesterday which brought an influx of birders today in

The good birds keep pouring in (arctic birds and tropicals).
While looking for Western Grebes off the east peninsula with my 30x
scope I had a group of 6 winter-plumage Red Phalaropes were seen about
400 off-shore heading east about 40 feet above the surface. I
estimated they were about 200
Hello,
I'm not sure if this is worthy of Ontbirds as this is my first year to
have feeders in Windsor. Currently there are between 15 and 25 Pine
Siskins at my two nyger feeders and one black-oil sunflower feeder. With
AMGO, DOWO and both nuthatches, it's quite a feeding frenzy out there.

Fellow birdwatchers: It was been reported to me (today) that at least on 5
different occassions dogs were see in the wetland. Four of those occassion were
reports that the dog was accompanied by a person. I tried to assure Public
Works that I did not believe that any birdwatcher would enter the
slow wet day at the cranberry marsh hawk watch, only 1 each of red
shouldered, red tail and sharpie, 17 turkeys in the east side field on the way
up and 12 fox sparrows and barred owl, among many other birds at the 2nd
platform. regards alan woods. dir, 401 to salem south to victoria east

Hi, everyone,
I had about 20 Evening Grosbeaks briefly visit my feeders late yesterday
afternoon in Rockwood. When they took off they circled high into the
air and then flew straight southeast so I don't know if they will be
back. The direction they flew was towards the Rockwood Conservation
This morning Brandon Holden saw three Pomarine Jaegers fly past Fort Erie
going down stream along the Niagara River.
