Thanks largely to the efforts of participants in the Christmas Bird Count, over
60 species of birds have been seen within the Presqu’ile Provincial Park
boundaries in the past week. Probably every one of those is still lurking
somewhere in the Park or in the surrounding waters.

Further to other posts, at about 1:30pm today, the bird was seen once again
about 30 feet up a tree about 75 feet north of the trail opposite the
previously reported "green gate" about 1400 m. west of Hwy 7. This is
about 1+meters west of where it was reported at noon today but back to
where it w
The owl was seen on the wires near Hwy. 7 just north of Meadowview Rd. at
around 12 pm. It was actively hunting near the foot trail on the west side of
the bridge. It eventually flew off towards the west. Photographed and filmed.

One was perched on the utility wire that crosses Highway 60 at km 22.3 at
8.30 this morning. (This is where the old railway embankment meets the
highway, for old-time Algonquin people!)
