A merlin was across the rtoad from the Lorne Park public school.
This is the 2nd time I have seen a merlin here ,first time late November

Today, (January 22) from approximately 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, I observed:
65-75 Southern Common Redpoll (flammea)
2 Greater Common Redpoll (rostrata)
3 Southern Hoary Redpoll (exilipes)
The flock under my backyard feeders seemingly continues to grow daily. I

While driving a school bus this afternoon I spotted a well marked Snowy Owl
looking quite comfortable in this cold weather. The Owl was perched atop a
deciduous tree at the North West corner of Airport road and King Street in
Caledon. This was just after 4pm.

Based on observations from those who were there today, at least two great gray
owls were seen in the field at the bridge where the Rockcliffe Parkway crosses
over Green's Creek. This location is by far one of the most reliable to see
great gray owls in the Ottawa area. Of
