Turkey
Previously reported Ross's Goose was still seen this morning at 6:45am when
I got there. But it took off with a flock of Canada Geese at 7:25am. It
may return later in the day to roost as it did before. Good luck.
Reesor Pond is in Markham on the west side of Reesor Road south of Highway
7 and
The Snowy Egret that has been present variously for the past few weeks at the
Tilbury Sewage lagoons was again present this morning.
Directions: the lagoons are accessed from Hwy 401 by getting off at exit 56 and
going west on Mill Street to the first road (Edgefield Sideroad) and turning
Ontbirders -
At 8:15am this morning, I found 2 long-billed dowitchers at the upper
Claireville reservoir in Toronto. They were initially foraging with several
yellowlegs just off the western mudflat, then flew across the reservoir to the
eastern side.
Other shorebirds present included
2 individuals found this morning in Alfred's sewage lagoons. They were found
in cat tails on the North end.

Send
No sign of the Purple Sandpiper today at the waterfront in Mitchell's Bay,
however a Marbled Godwit is present. From the park, scan the bay to the north.
The Godwit was feeding in shallow water where a group of Caspian Terns were
roosting.

Today, September 22nd, I spent 5 hours this morning birding the Lake Dore area.
There were lots of flocks of Canada Geese migrating along with a few species of
both diving and puddle ducks. Both the previously reported Long-tailed and
Parasitic Jaegers were still present at
