Hi (again),
Chalk my previous post up to excitement/nerves/over-analysis!
I have looked through my photos more than enough and retract my comment re:
this bird (Ross's) being a potential intermediate Ross's/Lesser.
It is a juvenile Ross's.

Hi there,
It appears the bird is a juvenile. I first reported the bird as a juvenile
to our (Ottawa's) local list-serve but then changed my mind when I posted

Hi there,
Today, at 5:15 PM, I had a single Ross's Goose amongst 1500-1700 (rough
est) Canada Geese. The bird showed some grayish/brownish wash to the head
but I think that is attributed to the mud it was foraging in. All other
signs point to this being an adult bird.

The two Marbled Godwits were still feeding on the mudflat at Mitchell's Bay
this afternoon.
The one was first seen September 20, then two were present October 8, so
they must like the place! I did not see them Friday afternoon so obviously
they did not leave.

saw the juvenile Pacific Loon on Lake Simcoe yesterday afternoon. This is
likely the same one found by Josh Vandermeulen the day before. The weather was
very rainy and windy, and almost all of the birds were very far o

About 30 minutes ago, I scoped a juvenile black legged kittiwake looking
