A trip to Point Edward today revealed a King eider flying reported on October
31st by Sean Jenniskon with Long tailed duck in the early afternoon around 1:30
pm. Also observed were Red breasted merganser and White winged scooter.

My son and I visited Cranberry Marsh late this afternoon. Among the 17
species of ducks we found was one beautiful male Harlequin Duck who flew in
from the west around 3:45 and landed with a group of Common Goldeneyes just

The male EURASIAN WIGEON was again off Rondeau Park's dock today. It was
immediately to your right with hundreds of American Wigeon. It was not the
brightest male I have seen so it was difficult to pick out at times. The
Bay is loaded with ducks, so likely there are others!

This morning Ross Harris rediscovered the adult Pacific Loon at Oshawa Harbour.
It has been seen in the harbour channel as well as about 200 metres south of

Sorry for the late posting.
Yesterday evening, I saw a very attractive dark morph Red-tailed Hawk sitting
on the hydro lines along Hwy 6 (Plank Rd) between Hagersville and Caledonia.
The location was between 3rd and 4th Line next to house #4830.
The bird is either the Western subspecie
There are currently TWO Purple Sandpipers at the Tip of Point Pelee. They are
sitting on rocks at the tip. Point Pelee is near Leamington. Good luck!

Currently watching an adult Red Phalarope on Turkey Point Beach approximately
200 meters down from the pier.
Other shorebirds in the vicinity include Dunlin, Sanderling and Gr. Yellowlegs.
One Little Gull is also roosting on the beach.

Peter Yoerg just phoned to report a CATTLE EGRET near Rock Point Provincial
Park. The bird was where there were one or two Cattle Egrets a few years
ago. This cattle pasture is a kilometer or two east of the park, at the
bend in Reg Road 3 (where it turns northwest) and where a road comes off

in Erieau
It is on the shoulder of the road at an extreme bend in the road. Many fields
surround the area...no livestock noted.
