out from the pier with a raft of scaup.

Near Paris there is a large flock of Wild Turkey that are staying in a
field that seems to have had feed provided. About 20 birds have been there
throughout the day for over a week. White-tailed Deer also show up, as well
as various birds such as Snow Buntings.

There has been an extremely dark morph red-tail/Harlan's hawk (I'm not wading
into that debate - just noting the bird!) in Chatham-Kent for the past two
days. The bird is almost entirely black and does not have streaking on its
breast or throat area. The primaries are a striking
Today I joined Ed O’Conner for a stroll on The Spit and though it was very
quiet we did find a few nice birds. It was almost oven like down there :)).
The Red-throated Loon along with 6 Horned Grebes were on the lake off Pipit
Point and as Ed and I stopped to talk on our way off The Spit (along
We just came back from a walk to Bronte Harbour. Just offshore amongst bits of
ice were three King Eiders. One was a young male. The two were females, one
noticeably reddish. The three were often close together.
Also present was the regular Snowy Owl, on “F” dock today. There is a nice
Paul Reeves has informed me that The Spit enclosed parking lot closes at 4:30
pm and not 6 pm as I said in my Loon post.
This is important as you do not want your vehicle locked in for perhaps more
than just a day as tomorrow is Sunday and during the week the Parks employees
are not present

Common Eiders I reported earlier.
