Observing the birds on the beach today on Stonemill Road in Ridgeway. At 8:00
pm I noticed a large white bird flying over the lake. Once I had gotten a
better look, I noticed it was a snowy owl sitting where it landed on the ice
over the lake, just east of the parking area.

20 birders enjoyed a beautiful Spring day's birding in the Peterborough and
Cobourg areas today.
A group total of 79 species included several highlights :
A Greater White-fronted Goose + 10 Cackling Geese at Garden Hill Pond north of
Port Hope;
7 Cackling Geese at Mather's Corners; 3 grebes, Comm
A Red-bellied Woodpecker in Merwin Greer Woods in Cobourg.
Take exit 474 from highway 401 and go south on Division street to King
Street (#2) and go east on King Street to Coverdale. Go south on Coverdale
to Hamilton Ave. Go east on Hamilton Ave. to Merwin Greer Woods about 1 Km
on the north side..
Hi Ontario birders! I just found a male Eurasian Wigeon at Holiday Beach
Conservation Area in Amherstburg. It is out in the open marsh and requires a
spotting scope to see. They are among many dabblers about 1-1.5 km away from
the viewing tower, at the approximate direction WNW of the tower. The

At noon today Sunday, my wife and I found about 1000 Snow Geese along with
about 800 Canada Geese north of County Road 43 2 km east of Chesterville
ON. They were resting along the river.
To reach Chesterville from Ottawa, take Bank Street 50 km south and turn
east on Rte 43.

My wife Kim and I (and later Terrie Smith) just had two Greater White-fronted
Geese in a field with 100s of Canadas just west of the Village of Epsom in
Scugog Twp.
>From intersection of Reach and Lakeridge go east to a large flooded field
>(~2-3 km west of Epsom) on the north side of the road
We also have a Golden Eagle soaring in the same area just west of Lancaster.

For
Tyler Hoar and I are down just west of Lancaster. We had close to 1 Snow
Geese in the last half hour, many continuing east, (about 150 blue morphs).
Tyler also had 2 Ross's Geese and a White-fronted Goose while I was taking
photos.
