Birders in the area may want to keep their eyes open for a Barred Owl that was
in my backyard this morning until around 11:30, and is likely still in the
area. A most unexpected sighting for me here in the heart of Toronto. We live
just south of Broadview and Danforth.

The most recent copy of the journal, Ontario Birds has been sent out to
members of the Ontario Field Ornithologists. The copy completes the three
issues for last year. The 148 pages produced last year contained 12
articles including egret recoveries, nesting magpies, eagles dropping a
grebe,

The varied thrush is currently (10:15 Feb 6) being observed in a spruce to
the left of the storage unit at the house described in previous emails.

Today around 1pm, 40-50 Horned Larks in with 2 Snow Buntings, Juncoes and a few
American Tree Sparrows, in an open field at the north west corner of 19th
Avenue and Warden in Markham.
Also, our little Cape May Warbler has survived this week, and is doing well,
despite appearing on Monday
