Hi Everyone As you all know the Little Egret decided to change its morning routine and wasn’t present at Andrew Haydon Park this morning. A number of us checked other locations including Britannia Point/Pinecrest Creek, the Ottawa River shoreline from Britannia to Shirley’s Bay, Moodie Drive P

After receiving a couple of requests about travelling to Ottawa for the Little Egret I just wanted to update Bruce DiLabio's post of this morning. The bird did NOT show up at Andrew Haydon Park after several days of arriving there first thing in the morning. I checked a number of likely locatio

This morning at the Shirley's Bay dyke the habitat was very good for the coming shorebird migration and a number of marsh birds were seen and heard. American Bittern Least Bittern Marsh Wrens at least 6 Common Gallinules with young Great Egrets. 10 roosting in a tree Caspian Tern 2 Common Tern.
