Northern Saw-whet Owl was seen along the railway just west of Mather St. and
Wilson St. West here in Perth, Ontario. Putting it on here as there is not much
in bird notes from here.

The bird is showing now just north of the large poplars in the same area it was
reported earlier.
C. Sam smith Park is at the base of Kipling at Lakeshore in Etobicoke.
Park at the last lot and walk the path.

High Park once again saw winds from the NW throughout the day and a
continued migration of raptors, although fewer numbers than the
previous day (interestingly, many of the species across the board had
just about half the numbers from Saturday). In addition many of the

For those coming to Col Sam for the Solitaire it has been slowly making its way
toward the parking lot area. It has now flown into the trees and bushes just
south and a bit west of the parking lot and nearer the north eastern part of
the Marina
Col Sam is at the South end
Seventeen OFO members had an enjoyable outing to Amherst Island yesterday
(we didn't venture to Wolfe Island) and logged a very reasonable 67 species.
Highlights of the trip included Horned Grebe, Red-necked Grebe, Hudsonian
Godwit, Black-bellied Plover, Dunlin, Black Scoter, Bufflehead, Sandhill

Hey all. A dozen birders are watching a very obliging solitaire on the walk
towards Whimbrel Pt. (southernmost point). Just look for birders.

David Pryor has phoned to advise he has discovered a Townsend's Solitaire at
Sam Smith park in Etobicoke. Many photos have been taken.
The bird is along the main path in an aspen/poplar tree on the left side, just
before the path branches to go to Whimbrel Watch Point.

The purple sandpiper is still present at Shirleys bay this morning. It was
first observed in flight around 4:00pm yesterday. It is approximately 100
metres along causeway feeding with Dunlin and white-rumped sandpipers.
