Common Ringed Plover was present in cell 2 at sundown, in the company of four
Semipalmated Plovers and several Killdeer. American Golden Plover flew off at
roughly 7:30pm.

Shorebird habitat is excellent at Owen Point in Presqu'ile
Provincial Park on Lake Ontario near Brighton. Today we saw over 100 shorebirds
of 12 species just at Owen Point. Shorebirds
in checklist order were Black-bellied Plover, Semipalmated Plover, Killdeer,
Lesser Yellowlegs, Ruddy Turnstone, S

After a spell of very humid and hot weather last night the winds shifted to the
NW bringing much cooler temperatures and dryer air to this region.
This morning in my yard there was evidence of a good movement of warblers with
15 species and 3 vireo species, Scarlet tanager, Rose-breasted grosbea

There continues to be confusion about hours of operation at Tommy
Thompson Park at the foot of Leslie Street in Toronto.
The park is an active construction site with trucks hauling landfill
during the day. It is open to the public

Myself and 2 others watched the plover till just before 8:30PM last night. I'm
fairly certain it spent the night on the flats.
My understanding is that Toronto Region Conservation is actively planting
around this area. Hopefully there wasn't too much disturbance today.

24 OFO members spent a pleasant day looking for woodland birds in the morning,
and shorebirds and water fowl in the afternoon. We were lucky enough to
encounter a couple of mixed flocks at the Palgrave Conservation Area.
