A new wide and gravelled footpath has been opened running from Highway 48
near Highway 7 (south side) down to 14th Avenue.
I saw an accommodating Barred Owl on that path, near the north end, around
4:30 p.m.
To get to where I parked, find Cosburn Road, which is the first road east,

Hi there,
Upon exiting my vehicle at Beryl Gaffney Park, I heard a very vocal Red-bellied
Woodpecker quite close by. I followed its sound to find it perched high in a
large maple along the ravine E of the parking lot. It has since flown a little
ways S along the western edge of the ravine.

This bird found by David Pryor is still present today. It is west of the Whimbrel Watch point feeding in the grass. Similarly to yesterday if you want to see this bird, you should get here soon before the dog walkers flush it.Directions: the park is located south of Lakes
