The 9th Collingwood Christmas Bird Count was held on Friday, 30 December 2016.
Georgian Bay and most running/still water was open. Snow depths ranged from
5-40 cm. Although the temperatures were mild (-8 to -4 C), the weather was
miserable. We had high winds and snowfall throughout much of the

Above find the video link to the Lark Sparrow, observed TODAY at the usual
place in East Toronto. It spent most of the time low in the shrubs, but fed for
long stretches along with Tree Sparrows and Juncos.

The Lark Sparrow was easily seen coming into seed placed on a mound just west
of the first two first gulf trailers along the gravel path. Nice bird in a
strange location. An easy tick although someone has taken up residence in a
tent about 50 feet away.
