sorry for the delayed email. Today at around 1 PM, I was heading north on
the DVP and, on the west side near York Mills exit, spotted what appeared
to be a juvenile bald eagle sitting in a tree. It was in the fairly wooded
area about 100 ft west of the DVP. I was driving, so my look was fleeting
a
Burke Korol and I, and several U.S. birders, observed the Slaty-backed
Gull today. It was not visible from the Canadian side of the river. The
bird was in a roosting flock on the rock/ice immediately upstream from
Three Sisters Island, seen from Goat Island. It flushed once (with the

Kit McCann and I just headed out to Staples and Comber in search of blackbird
flocks at some grain storage areas - in hope of finding a flock to search
through for Yellow-headed Blackbird - and we were not disappointed!! We found a
massive flock of 5000-1 blackbirds, nearly all Brown-headed
