Tomorrow (February 24) will be the final Bird Feeder Friday in Algonquin Park
this winter. The Visitor Centre webcams will be aimed at the bird feeders from
8 am to sunset to catch all the action. Watch at:

In an abrupt change from earlier this month, the bird life at Presqu'ile
Provincial Park has changed day by day. Not surprisingly, given the
unusually warm weather, early migrants are appearing daily and ice
conditions are more like what one would expect in mid- to late March.
The elderly TRU
Today we had the first Robins of the spring. We have also had a number of
Red Winged Blackbirds and Common Grackles at the feeders. Many Canada Geese
along the banks of streams and our first flock of Mallards
Sighted north of Walkerton near Vesta.

There were 2 highlights this week-4 TRUMPETER SWANS in Carleton Place on
the 18th, and 2 on the 21st. A GRAY JAY was seen from
60+ Red-winged Blackbirds, several more Grackles and many, many Cowbirds in our
Markham garden today!
