I am looking at 3 distant dowitchers with a big flock of shorebirds on the
south side of Concession Rd 2 Sunnidale, just west of the intersection with
McKinnon Road. This is along the south side of the Minesing swamp west of
Barrie. The dowitchers appear to be Long-billed Dowitchers, as
Today at around 2:30 pm 18 Willets were sitting and feeding along the shoreline
at the public beach in Port Burwell.
To get there from Highway # 3 take Highway #19 south through Eden and
Stratfordville and continue driving through Vienna. The next town is Port
Burwell. Drive all the way
For those thinking of visiting Point Pelee from the east. It appears
that Highway 401 at the Hwy 40 overpass in Chatham will be closed this
weekend while they demolish the old overpass bridge.
It might be an idea to take the Ridgetown exit from the 401 and go south
to connect up with Talbot
Had my First of Year Black-and-white Warbler (Male, not singing) this
morning in Prospect Cemetery, Toronto. The bird was mixed in with foraging
RBNUs, RCKIs, and two thrushes (probably Wood Thrush, maybe HEME, but
couldn't be sure). It was in a small grove, in the northern half of
Prospect
21 Avocets and 9 Marbled Godwits at Hillman shorebird. Haven't found Willets so
far

Hello birders,
I didn't see the bird but it was reported yesterday April 27th at 9:37am.
It was seen in the gravel parking lot by the visitors ctr. The sighting was
verified by Sarah Rupert. Last reported flying off to the Woodland trail,
hope it hangs around for a while. It would be a lifer for
7 matches
