Thank you to Doug McRae for making the initial posting about the female
Blue Grosbeak at Presqu'ile.
Further to the directions in Doug's email, the bird fed until dusk on the
south side of Paxton Drive at the edge of a partially overgrown field. Park
at the lighthouse parking lot,
A drake Eurasian Wigeon is present at the Erieau Marsh Trail. I found the bird
in Rondeau Bay from the first wooden structure 500 meters from the trail head.
The EUWI was approximately a KM out on the bay looking south from the tower.
I saw the bird on May 12th at 7:40 PM

Marsh wren heard today (not seen) in 2nd Marsh, Oshawa, by Scattergood’s pond.
Also Baltimore Oriole.

Ian Shanahan just found a female blue grosbeak at presquile. It is feeding on
the roadside on Paxton drive. From the lighthouse walk west on Paxton past the
major bend until you come to a small field in south side. It is there.

Both seen in last hour on the spit near bird banding site. Also several Cape
Mays, Black-throated Green and Palm.

Wondering how we did? Tom Hince, Paul Pratt, and myself just wrapped up our Big
Sit fundraiser for the Ontario Field Orthithologists. We picked a spot on the
west side of the Tip of Point Pelee National Park. Park staff (especially
Sarah Rupert) kindly allowed early access to
Despite the cool wet weather, it has been an awesome morning. A fall-out of
sorts occurred and bird activity is very good.
Best birds reported so far are a RED-THROATED LOON, and ACADIAN FLYCATCHER.
The Tip was quiet first thing but by 8 am, many warblers and other migrants
were found.
Observed and very cooperative at far northeast corner of park in shrub
growth, north end of green lawn. Approx 50 m from intersection of Keele and
Bloor.
