This was a very odd day at the park. There were almost no shorebirds this
morning along the beaches, with one larger flock of probable Dunlins on
the far side of Gull Island. The rest of the morning was disheartening.
After a break for warblers, which were also thin, a second run at the
beaches
One Common Nighthawk was heard calling and observed flying over Bloor St W
and Dovercourt Rd at 8:15 pm tonight, May 23

Durham Region staff asked me to pass on the message that a small part of the
lagoons will be closed to the public for approximately the next 3 weeks. I will
advise via this forum and Facebook when full access returns.
Specifically, the northern part of lagoon 3 (counting from the east) is
At about 12:20 pm today the Cattle Egret was with a herd of cows and calves
(white; Charolais?) on the west side of Huff Rd., about 1.6 km south of County
Road 2. Huff Rd. runs south from CR 2 about 1.6 km west of Brighton or about 10
km east of Colborne.
The grass is quite long in places, and
A Cattle Egret has been seen by many birders this morning on the west side of
Huff Rd, near Presqu’ile PP. It has been seen with both groups of cattle
opposite to the barns on the west side of the road.
There are also Cliff Swallows and field birds at this location.
