Hi everyone, The Blenheim CBC was held on December 16. Balmy conditions and calm weather made for a slow day but the count ended up with 114 species which is the second highest ever, although we've been over this number 3 times. A quick rundown of the hi-lights follows. New Species:

For those winter listing, Dave Don, Rob Dobos and I were able to locate the Northern Waterthrush found on the Long Point count on the east side of Hunter Road just past the Port Rowan Sewage Lagoons where the creek crosses the road. Many Sandhill Cranes and Tundra Swans around. There was also

The previously reported Wild Turkey continues in the same general Garrison Creek neighborhood.  It seems to be more active at dawn but disappears behind lane way fences and garages as the day progresses. I found it immediately upon reaching the intersection of Grace and Harbord at 8am today.

There was a fine group of Pine Grosbeak on Centre Street in Brighton between Main and Chapel Streets. They are located in the crabapple tree in from of the yellow house which is a couple houses south of the Gabble's Restaurant house on the west side of Chapel Street. It was lovely to hear them
