Today, from 12 -12:30 PM two Black Vultures were soaring over the
Niagara River between the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge and the General
Brock Monument.

ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the
Today Ken Cohen and I had 8 species of gulls along the Niagara River
including a Little Gull at Lewiston,
Thayers and Iceland Gulls at Adam Beck, and 4 Lesser Black-Backed
Gulls above the Falls, 2 on the breakwall
and 2 on the shoal in the river.

The Razorbill was present at the mouth of the Niagara River this
morning between 9:30 and 10:30. Best seen from the vantage point of
the cannon platform on the west side of the Fort. Probably viewable
from the Ontario side as well but not as close. Diving regularly so
patience is required.
The cackling goose was still at Ft Erie today at 11 AM. It was
feeding on the grass about 200 yards south of
the Peace Bridge with a flock of about 150 Canada Geese.

seen at Vanderliek Pond on the Niagara Peninsula at 3;30 this

Vanderliek Pond is about 5 KM east of Smithville Ontario on Highway 20.

The two female King Eiders reported by Mike Morgante on Sunday were
still present
at the Nichols Marina boat ramp at 2:30 this afternoon. They were
diving and preening
within 30-40 feet of shore and gradually drifted 75 yards downstream.

On Sunday , August 29th Ken Cohen and I had 13 species of shorebirds at
Rock Point Provincial Park plus Black-bellied and American Golden
Plovers at the turf farms along
Regional Route 3. The big find was an immature Lark Sparrow on the
beach at Rock
