What seems like a slam dunk Glaucous-winged Gull was found by Kirk Zufelt today
in Sault Ste. Marie. Where he found it has ZERO access for birders, but he
observed it fly off towards the St. Marys River, so it could be found where
gulls concentrate there, like the rapids off Whitef
A hatch year male Black-headed Grosbeak was photographed earlier today at a
private residence near Sawpit Bay, which is about 80km north of Sault Ste.
Marie. Visitors will be permitted should the bird show up again. If anyone is

Late this afternoon, I was notified about a Varied Thrush sighting here in the
Algoma District. When I arrived at the residence, I was talking to one of the
homeowners and he said there were actually two of them present. He had photos
of a male, but only a description of the second bird

I had a female Western Tanager in my yard this morning. It was feeding on the
oranges I have out for the orioles. It continues as of 10:30am.
I'm located on Echo Lake Road in Echo Bay, which is approximately 15 minutes
east of Sault Ste. Marie. Echo Lake Road is the first left off Highw

farm just outside of Echo Bay, which is just east of Sault Ste. Marie.
There were also Baird's Sandpipers, Semipalmated Plovers and potentially
