Congratulations to the Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory (BPBO)
on completing 20 years (2000-2019) of migration monitoring at the
Cabot Head Research Station on the northeastern tip of the
Bruce Peninsula in Ontario, Canada.

To the best of my knowledge, no one in Ontario (and possibly Canada)
participated annually in CBCs for more years than him.
Uncle Doug did the Bruce Peninsula CBC with me and his nephew Tom Williamson
for years. I have a lot of great memories of our times together.

I had an excellent view of an adult Swainson's Hawk yesterday afternoon
soaring over Bruce Rd 3 just north of Cargill Rd. With the light northeast
winds predicted for this morning, it will likely travel down the Lake Huron
shoreline and pass the Detroit River hawk watch.

Birders had an excellent weekend on the Bruce Peninsula in spite of Mother
Nature's best efforts to drown us and drive us out with thunder and
lightning. We kept a careful eye on the weather throughout the day. One
particularly awesome arced wall cloud passed overhead with non-rotating dark
spirals
The first Saugeen Shores CBC 4 Kids was held on December 3, 2017. The small
group of participants identified and counted over 350 birds in the vicinity
of Northshore Park and the Port Elgin harbour. Highlights included Redheads
