Ontbirders
Just had a pair of Sandhill Cranes fly over my house, calling loudly and
heading south from Brookville towards Campbellville and Milton. Keep your eyes
and ears open if you’re in the area.
Brookville is 5 km north of Highway 401, on Guelph Line to the west of Highway
25 (Milton)
Just saw one of the Milton resident Snowy Owls perched on a "Lease" sign
fronting a new warehouse / distribution building on the northeast corner of
James Snow Parkway and Highway 401. I drove around the building (enter from
Steeles Avenue) and the bird flew up to the roof of the unnumbered,
Currently watching a Snowy Owl perched on the top of a hydro pole, southwest
corner of Mayfield Road and Torbram Road in Brampton.
Torbram is just east of the Hwy 410 extension, take 410 north from the 401 or
407 to Mayfield Road, and head east past Dixie and Bramalea.

Snowy Owl just seen perched at the top of a tall tree in a field on the south
side of highway 401, immediately west of the 407 intersection and east of
Trafalgar Road.
Presumably the same owl also seen this morning by Anne Crowley, perched on a
light standard next to the Trafalgar Road north
Early morning Snowy seen perched on a road sign on the south side of the
eastbound lanes of the 401, at the 407 immediately west of Winston Churchill
Boulevard.

Just observed (1:45 pm) a snowy owl flying along the north side of Hwy 401,
westbound, between Winston Churchill Boulevard and Trafalgar Road. I've seen a
snowy in this area on several occasions over the past few years but this was my
first observation this winter.
