Twenty of us met at Lynde Shores CA on a sunny holiday weekend Sunday morning.
The weather was, perhaps, too good with no hoped for cold front that would
start some southbound migration.
We drove to Halls Road to access Cranberry Marsh for a few hours before heading
to Darlington PP to finish t
The holiday weekend and the promised heat may have lowered attendance but
fourteen OFO members still had an enjoyable day at Cranberry Marsh and
Darlington Provincial Park.
Overall total was 46 species. Some of these as follows:
We started well with an Osprey fly over with a relatively large fis
The weekend closure of Victoria Street across the Lynde Shores Marsh forced a
change of starting point to Hall’s Road. From there, this year’s trip covered
Cranberry Marsh, Darlington Provincial Park, Corbett Creek Marsh and a storm
water pond east of Lynde Creek.
The group of 25 members tallied
Another great weather day greeted 27 of us today at Lynde Shores CA.
Although the fall migration hasn't yet started in earnest, we still managed
61 species seen or heard by most.
We had a few songbirds - Yellow Warbler, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher,
Black-and-white Warbler, American Redstart, Baltim
Male Wilson's Phalarope at 2:00pm at Sobey's Pond Whitby.
Directions:
Sobey's "pond" is the large puddle located north of Victoria Street at the
corner of Montecourte Street and Nordeagle Avenue.
Montecourte Street is the third light west of Brock Street (not Brock Road
in Pickering) nort
