A first spring Summer Tanager visited a feeding station on May 12th,
at a residence in town.
It returned to the site on the 13th when I and two others watched the
bird foraging for
insects in the upper branches of a Maple. It was last seen around
noon. The resident
photographed the bird.

Two adults with 3 cygnets were seen on July 10, 2014, in a cattail
marsh on the North side of Kawartha Road 45 (Monk Road). The cite is
1.6 km east of Uphill (Juntion of 45 and Kawartha Road 35). No wing
tags were seen on the adults. Time of sighting around 11AM.

This morning Jan 17 around 10:10 AM my wife and I saw a Northern Hawk
Owl hunting along Hyw. 28 between Apsley and Silent Lake Park. The
location was about 3.2 km South of the entrance road to the Park.
Silent Lake Park is between Apsley and Bancroft.

A Hermit Thrush has been visiting our feeders for several days, feeding mostly
on the ground and occasionally on the suet cake.
The bird is in a residential area. Anyone interested can give me a call.
