Paul Lagasi wanted me to pass on that he saw both a male Cerulian and
Blue-winged Warbler at the Lighthouse at Presqu’ile Park this afternoon. Both
birds were very cooperative showing well.

The adult Ross’s Goose was present again at the Almonte Sewage Lagoons today
until 3:25 when it flew off to the North-West with a large group of Canada
Geese.
The Ross’s did not associate at all with the 11 Snow Geese present. It stayed
with the Canadas quite separate from the Snow Geese and l
At noon today there was an adult Ross’s Goose at the Almonte Sewage Lagoon with
11 Snow Geese. The Ross’s tended to stay by itself apart from the Snows.

This morning a group of us got good looks at the Dowitcher off Twin Elm Rd. in
Ottawa. It proved to be a Short-billed.
The 14 adult Golden Plovers increased to 15 and the to 23. Later in the morning
two Pectoral Sandpipers joined the plovers.
Good looks were available until about 11:15 when an
This evening until dark there was a flock of 14 adult Golden Plovers and 1
Long-billed Dowitcher at the corner of Twin Elm Rd and Barnsdale Rd. south-west
of Ottawa. The Dowitcher was loosely associating with the Plovers but preferred
the wetter parts of the field and was difficult to see.

The Godwit was still present this morning at 5:30 on Greenbank Rd.. All the
other shorebirds except the White-rumped were also seen. An addition was one
Semi. Plover. The peeps were Semi. Sandpipers.Some patience may be needed as
the Godwit can not be seen if it is along the near edge of the pon
As of 5:15 this afternoon the Godwit was still present. Also seen were 4
Black-bellied Plover, 1 Dunlin, 1 White-rumped Sandpiper and a half dozen peeps
(to far with poor light to id.). Mixed in with the 100 or so Mallards was one
Brant.

Just after 12 noon today I saw a Marbled Godwit on Greenbank Rd. Ottawa.
It is on the west side of Greenbank between West Hunt Club Rd. and Falowfield
Rd.
Directions:From Hwy 416 take West Hunt Club Rd. exit, go east to Greenbank Rd.
and then south on Greenbank. The pond is on the west side of
This morning at about 8:30 there was an Adult Bald Eagle sitting in a tree at
the Almonte sewage lagoons. This was just past the gate on Wolf Grove Rd. close
to the road.
We did not see it when we returned at 12:30.
Directions: From Ottawa take hwy 417 to the Carp/March Rd. exit. turn left and
There is presently an adult Greater Snow Goose on Greenbank Rd. It is on the
west side of the road between West Hunt Club Rd. and Fallowfield Rd.
I also saw a Great Egret at Bruce Pit.
Directions for Goose: From hwy 417 take Greenbank Rd. South approximately 5 KM.

Today at 5 P.M. there were three Great Egrets at the Moodie Dr. quarry pond. I
was wondering when they would put in an appearance. Also seen were my first in
awhile American Wigeon (1 male, 2 females), a pair of Gadwall and the usual
assortment of regular ducks.
No eagles today and only 4 im
Today at noon I checked for the reported Imm. Little Gull but did not see it.
There were approximately 10 imm. Bonaparte's Gulls present.
There was an Adult Bald Eagle sitting in the same spot as the Imm. from a few
days ago. It flew south and landed in a dead tree straight across from the

This afternoon at 4:00 P.M. there was an imm. Bald Eagle at the large Quarry
pond on Moodie Dr. near Ottawa. Just after 4 it flew toward the Trail Rd. dump.
Also present were about a dozen first year Bonaparte's Gulls and one adult.
Yesterday there were 3 adults and 3 imm.

Not sure if this is new news but I have just come home from a four day course
in Sault Ste. Marie. While sitting in class I got to enjoy a Northern
Mockingbird feeding on the lawn just outside the window. It was there two out

yesterday on Greenbank Road it appears it could very well be a leucistic Canada
Goose. If anyone else sees the bird their opinion would be appreciated.

Today at noon I saw a second year Greater Snow Goose on Greenbank Rd. south of
West Hunt Club Rd. on the east side. It was feeding with a small flock of
Canadas.
