I arrived just after 7 thus morning and spent 3 hours on the dikes, including the east-west dike to view the north ponds and did not relocate the pelicans. Great morning to view the Black terns, nesting Snapping turtles and Trumpeter swan cygnets... ___

The Reddish Egret gave good but somewhat distant views to a large group of birders from about 10:45 to shortly after 11;00. It was across from the Fen Boardwalk near the south end. It moved out of sight and did not reappear over the next 45 min. Or so. >From Wharton go west on 13 and continue we
