Hawkwatch for Thursday September 15th. I found out that several of the
counters remained at the hawkwatch till 6:30 PM (after I'd left) due to a large
late day Kestrel flight that was occurring.

I took a quick tour around the Mitchell sewage lagoons this evening and came
across a RED-NECKED PHALAROPE feeding alongside a WILSON'S PHALAROPE
again!! They were in the eastern part of the large "L" shaped cell on the

I managed to sneak out to the lagoons this morning Aug 8th and found the Red
Knot still in the right side (western most) cell on the thin island strip
feeding with several Greater Yellowlegs.
A great bird...very attractive in its alternate plumage! I live only minutes
from these lagoo
Well folks...good newsthe RED-NECKED PHALAROPE is still present at the
Mitchell Sewage Lagoons as of 8:45 pm today Aug 2nd.
The even better news is that there's now a 2nd phalarope that was feeding with
it...and this one looked like a WILSON'S PHALAROPE...also in molt to Basic
plummage.

the late post...but I didn't get the message till late this afternoon.
They were birding with friends in the Hullett Wildlife Area today and found a
single male Eurasian Wigeon amongst a raft of American Wigeo
