[Ontbirds] Northern Shovelers - Humber Bay Park

Hello Birders,I observed 6 drake Shovelers in a mixed flock of Mallards and Gadwall in the small ponds behind the main parking lot. They seemed quite settled so would imagine they'll be around for a few more days at least.Also large numbers of Hooded Mergansers sprinkled around the Bay and in the

Seen very well this morning on a power box in the Yacht Club harbor. *BONUS BIRD* Northern Strike, also well viewed in tree tops along eastern perimeter of the Park.Col Sam Smith is located in Etobicoke off of Lakeshore Ave, just west of Islington Ave.Happy Holidays all...JW _

Also, appears to be a drake Mallard/Pintail hybrid here as well.Dominant mallard features, with narrow blue bill and short pintail being the exceptions.

Harlequin still here at 10:15 am..seen well at West end of park, very close to shore.Beautiful specimen for sure...JW
