Today on the southeast beach 9 a single Semipalmated was actively scouring
the shoreline for food. This is a few weeks later than last year when I
observed them on the second week of July.

Since early May there has been a Merlin actively hunting and flying in the the
south end of Brampton.
It is calling many times each day as hunts in a area of half a sq kilometer.
The Merlin flutters above the large silver maples calling in a attempt to flush
song birds from their high perches
This morning and still making a appearance as it forages for insects in the
canopy of this suburban neighbourhood is a Bay Breasted Warbler
The male is seen and calling however I cannot locate the returning call.

This evening there is a male Eastern Towhee feeding with the ever present House
Sparrows beneath my feeder along with a White throated Sparrow. A Northern
Flicker stopped by briefly late this afternoon. The Towhee is a first here in
the middle of suburbia.
