Another very busy morning here at Rondeau, with large
numbers of warblers moving through the park.
The South Point area again seemed to be the best area with
big numbers of Cape May, N. Parula, Tennessee, and
Yellow-rumped Warblers still moving through. There were
also 4 Mourning Warblers and 3
This morning there are seemingly birds everywhere. The
biggest hot spot seems to be South Point Trail, but most
places that reports have come in from seemed to be good.
In total there has been about 27 species of warlber
already.
Spice Bush/Bennet Rd. had a pair of Prothonotary Warblers,
Worm-eat
This mornings birding produced no major rareties but there
was no shortage of birds to be found.
On South Point Trail there were at least 17 species of
Warbler including, Hooded, Golden-winged, N. Parula and many
Cape May Warblers. Other notables on South Point included
Little Gull seen off the be
Birders who braved the rain early this morning were rewarded
for their efforts. 21 species of Warbler were seen on
South Point Trail and 15 on Tulip Tree Trail.
Today was the first day that we had seen any numbers of both
Tennessee and Cape May Warblers, with them being reported
from most trails
There was a female Painted Bunting on the South Point Trail
at Rondeau this afternoon. It was originally sighted around
1pm and a quick video clip was brought into the visitor
center around 5pm, the bird was then easily found again. it
was approximately 150-200m down the trail from the east
entra
Early reports are starting to trickle in here at Rondeau,
with lots of good birds being seen. On the Tulip Tree Trail
today there were a total of 3 male Prothonotary Warblers
putting on quite a show right off the trail. There was also
a Connecticut Warbler heard singing from the same spot and a

The skies have remained rain free today, which has allowed
for some comfortable birding (has not been the case at times
lately)
White-eyed Vireo, Hooded Warbler and many Black-throated
Green Warblers were seen on South Point Trail this morning.

The morning has not brought any rain as of yet and the birds
are still around with a few new birds around.
An obvious rise in the number of Wilson's Warbler,
Philadelphia Vireo and Red-eyed Vireos was noted.
Hooded Warblers have been seen by the Pony Barns and on

Despite the rain this morning the birding has beed very
good, all the warblers are down low and giving great looks.
Seen this morning with only a few people reporting so far
are, Blue-winged, Tennesee, Nashville, N. Parula, Yellow,
Chestnut-sided, Magnolia, Cape May, Black-throated Blue,

Hello birders,
Today we are having a great morning at Rondeau in terms of
great looks at neat birds. The rain has been off and on,
but mainly off which is keeping all the warblers down low,
in a lot of cases actually on the ground. In spots they are
seeminly everywhere.
Prothonotary, Cerulean a
Today seemed to be a bit slower in terms of new arrivals
here at Rondeau today, that being said there we still lots
of hot pockets of activity.
Highlights include:
Hooded Warbler on both Spicebush Trail and at the "Pony
Barns".
Grasshopper Sparrow on south Point Trail.
Willet on the beach by the vi
This morning was much busier at Rondeau then it had been the
last couple of days. 20+ species of Warbler could be
recorded, new ones for the year or in numbers were Cape May,
Bay-breasted, Magnolia, Blue-winged and Blackburnian.
The Male Prothonotary has continued to be seen from Bennet
rd on the
The Black Vulture that was hanging around yesterday was seen
once again early this morning. The bird was seen this time
soaring over Rondeau rd. which is the main road down the
center of the park.
The Prothonotary was once again seen in the same location as
yesterday, the first viewing bench on Be
Early this afternoon on 2 occasions there was a male
Prothonotary seen/heard from Bennet rd. at the first viewing
bench.
The Black Vulture has been seen on and off throughout the
day, most sightings were from the visitor center area, but
it has been sighted flying over in other areas of the park

Today brought many new migrants to Rondeau Provincial Park
the 2 highlights were a singing Worm-eating Warbler that has
been seen/heard throughout the day on the Spicebush Trail
and a male Hooded Warbler seen on the South Point Trail.
