Hi Everyone The Great Gray Owls are still in good numbers in the Shirley's Bay area. Today, February 25th we saw 10 to 15 along March Valley Road between 7:30 am and 9:00am. A quick run along March Valley Road at around 4:00pm netted 5 owls. The Northern Hawk-Owl was present again today in the Gatineau Park along Trail #5 near the interaction of trail #26 & 29. There was a Great Gray Owl also nearby. The 2 male Barrow's Goldeneyes were seen at Remic Rapids this afternoon, one was very close to the shore and put on a great display as it was preening. The second bird spent most of its time feeding in the rapids. The hybrid Common x Barrow's Goldeneye was along the Rideau River near the Rideau Tennis Club. It was in a flock of 10+ Common goldeneye and a male Wood duck was with the Mallard flock. A Northern Shrike was seen near the intersection of Carling Ave. and Herzberg.
