While driving along Riddell Drive between March Valley and 6th Line Roads in Kanata, I saw 10-12 ravens on the side of the road. As I slowed down for a look I noticed the leg of a road-kill white-tail deer in the ditch. I proceeded another 2-300 metres to turn around when an adult Bald Eagle took off from a tree nearby. I then spotted a juvenile bald eagle about 400 metres away near the top of a large pine tree.
About 20 minutes later a pileated woodpecker landed in a tree and then a pole alongside the road. A small flock of Common Redpolls were sighted flying over March Valley Road near Riddell. Finally I also saw and photographed a group of turkeys feeding in and under an old apple tree this morning on the side of Herzberg Road near Carling.
