--- Begin Message ---Hi everyone, I received an eBird report yesterday for review in which an observer reported 9 Caspian Terns at Tommy Thompson Park yesterday. The observer kindly included a picture. This would be an exceptional late day for Caspian Tern in Toronto so I took a close look at the picture and was able to determine that these were in fact decoys not late migrants. I have contacted the Toronto Conservation Authority to see if the decoys are part of one of their wildlife management projects. Just wanted to get this out before anyone rushed down to try and see them. The birds were hunkered down on rip-rap and reed grass near embayment D. Directions: Leslie St. Spit is at the base of Leslie St., only open on weekends.
