The long-staying Cattle Egret continues at Colonel Samuel Smith Park in Toronto. This afternoon it was flushed from the peninsula east of Whimbrel Point and flew to the grasses at the base of Whimbrel Point. Whimbrel Point is identified by having a telephone pole on it.
Directions. From the QEW/Gardiner Expressway, exit southbound on Kipling Ave. Continue as far south as you can go to the (free) parking lot. Walk from the south end of Kipling Ave south towards the lake. Whimbrel Point will be the first large peninsula to your right (west). Look for the telephone pole (it's the only one out there). _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
