Philina English and I saw a male Eurasian Wigeon above the locks at Lower
Brewer's Mills today at 3:00 pm. It was at the western extreme of the large
raft of swans, geese and ducks. I recommend bringing a spotting scope, as he
was a couple hundred metres from shore. This duck was first found and
photographed by Martin Roncetti at noon today.

Other birds we saw at the lock included: bald eagle, hooded merganser, common
merganser, Canada goose, trumpeter swan, northern pintail, American wigeon,
bufflehead, gadwall, mallard, American black duck and ring-necked duck. There
were a few thousand birds there this afternoon.

Directions: From Kingston go 27 km north on Highway 15 to Washburn Road. Turn
left and follow it a few hundred metres to Lower Brewer's Mill lock station.
