The Frigatebird was observed from Sturgeon Creek last night (Sunday July 2) at
8:50 pm drifting north
along the waterfront toward the town of Leamington, as per Brian Morin. She did
not return to her roost
site of the past 3 nights on Sturgeon Creek. Observers have been looking since
6:00 am thi
Bird flew from tree and headed South towards Point Pelee. Will hopefully
return or has possibly landed in a tree along shoreline. Lost sight of it.

The Magnificent Frigatebird is still present and currently perched in a tree on
the rock jetty at Sturgeon Creek (near the bridge a few houses down from Pelee
Wings). It will likely fly again but it has been hanging around within a few
hundred metres of Pelee Wings on Point Pelee Dr. near Leamin
The Frigatebird made another brief appearance just north of Pelee Wings at the
outlet of Sturgeon Creek. It's not currently in view but likely still in the
area.

Please note that excellent flight photos taken yesterday at Clear Creek are
diagnostic for Magnificent Frigatebird, a "first-stage" juvenile per "Seabirds"
by Peter Harrison (1983: page 312).
Presumably the Ontario Bird Records Committee will concur with this initial

The frigatebird has left its perch in front of #12193. It was last seen flying
west along the beach and has not been seen in the last 30 minutes.
Identification to species continues to be discussed.

The Frigatebird is currently being seen on Rodeau's outer point.
This could only be seen by boat or by hiking the South Point Trail to its
terminus and hiking west along the lake Erie shoreline. It is perched high in a
poplar. About halfway to Erieau along the beach.

Dave and Linda have found an imm. Frigatebird, identified as Magnificent, at
the end of Clearville Road, sitting in a tree along the shore of Lake Erie. The
