Today, Thom Lambert, Jim Hopkins and I did a short excursion between Haliburton
and Minden. We found a few interesting birds:

Golden Eagle - an immature bird soaring over the Minden Dump;
Great Black-backed Gull - a 1st winter bird at the Minden Dump and 2 birds at
the Haliburton Dump, one 1st winter, the other a 2nd winter;
Kumlien's Gull - 2 dark 1st winter birds at the Haliburton Dump;
Wilson's Snipe - a late bird found and photographed yesterday near Lochlin.

Haliburton Landfill is located on Industrial Park Rd, along Cty Rd 21, W of the
village of Haliburton.
Minden Landfill is located just N of Minden, on Scotch Line Rd, W of Hwy 35.

Cheers,

Ed Poropat
Haliburton, ON
