Today went down to the Long Point area with Margaret Bain, Paul Riss and
Richard Pope and unsuccessfully looked for the Greater White-fronted Geese
reported earlier in the week.As a consolation we did see a juvenile Golden
Eagle soaring over the treetops just south of the platform at Lee Brown. Also
seen was a Hoary Redpoll in with Common Redpolls and Pine Siskins along
Hastings Drive. Other birds of note include Rusty Blackbirds, Sandhill Cranes,
Tundra swans flying everywhere and a Winter Wren and Eastern Meadowlark at Old
Cut station.

To get there take highway 59 to Long Point and turn right onto Lakeshore
road until you reach the viewing platform at Lee Brown Waterfowl Management
Area. Or Continue along 59 onto the causeway and turn either first right at
Hastings Drive or last left before the provincial park to get to Old Cut
