At 5:00 p.m. today, after watching for over an hour several thousand Canada
Geese flying off the Carp River floodplain in small groups and headed west into
adjoining fields, I spotted a single Greater White-fronted Goose doing the
same. The bird may be the same one as seen by Mark Patry on March 19. In one
of the small groups of Canada Geese there was also a Cackling Goose.

Directions: From the Carp exit of Highway 417 west from Ottawa, turn right and
take the Carp Road for 9 kilometres. The Carp River floodplain is on your
right, just before the village of Carp.
