Another Greater White-fronted Goose has been found in the Ottawa area. Ray
Holland just called to say he is looking at one at the Almonte lagoons beside
the Almonte water tower.
The juvenile Ross's Goose found yesterday at Andrew Haydon Park in the west end
of Ottawa was on the Ottawa River near the shore of the west end of that park
at dawn this morning but it flew west at 6:59 a.m. and has not yet been refound.
The two Greater White-fronted Geese that have been on the Moodie Dr pond south
of Trail Rd the previous two days have not been reported today but are likely
somewhere in the Ottawa area.
Directions to the Almonte lagoons and water tower: from Ottawa take hwy 417
west to exit 155 and go south on March Rd. Follow March Rd all the way through
Almonte, it becomes Ottawa St then Main St then Almonte St. Cross over
Christian St which is hwy 15 and the water tower will be on your right (west).
Good birding,Bob
