Raptor Observations:
Today's total for raptors was 141. There's a fairly consistent pattern to
flights at this point in the season with typically the bulk consisting of
Redtails (105) and a smattering of other species...a late Osprey (1), a
couple of Bald Eagles (2), Harriers (3)...a lone Cooper's Hawk was the only
accipiter for the day...and some Red-shoulders (14) and a couple of
Roughies (2). Highlight oday...Golden Eagles (7).

Non-raptor Observations:
Non-raptor avian species of note included 6 TUNDRA SWANS, WILD TURKEYS,
HERMIT THRUSH, TREE / FOX / SONG SPARROWS, mixed flocks of PINE SISKIN &
GOLDFINCH, and large flocks of CEDAR WAXWINGS and AMERICAN PIPITS. The
highlight of the day was an AMERICAN WOODCOCK that flushed from the
roadside shrubbery just north of the mound.
