5 people were at he tower today including John Barnes, Kory Renaud and Kit
McCann.






Weather:
The day began with clear sunny skies, a temperature of -3.5 C and west
northwest winds. Around 10 am the winds shifted to the northwest and
remained so until 1:00 pm when they abruptly moved southwest and lasted for
the rest of the day. The skies began to cloud over more so in the afternoon
and temperatures remained around 0 C. 

Raptor Observations:
A good number of raptors were coming through when the winds moved north,
albeit they were quite high in the sky, but it slowed again in the
afternoon. A light morph Rough-legged Hawk was observed. (71) Red-tailed
Hawks, (10) Red-Shouldered Hawks and (10) Sharp-shinned Hawks were seen
today. An adult Peregrine Falcon hovered over the the tower, eating on the
wing. The Osprey was observed in the morning. 

Non-raptor Observations:
The marsh had frozen over during the night for the first time this fall,
except for  few small area where the reduced number and variety of ducks
congregated. A relatively large number of Pine Siskin were noted calling
flying over today.

Winds are expected from the southeast with mixed precipitation in the
afternoon.
