I returned to Riddell Drive before sunrise this morning try and get some images of the ravens and bald eagles that I reported on yesterday along Riddell Drive between March Valley and 6th Line Roads in Kanata. Despite a long, cold 90 minute wait hiding under the branches of a spruce tree (about 100 metres away from the deer carcass) and using camo netting I did not get any photos although several ravens and a juvenile Bald Eagle all flew overhead.
I left there and went to the Ottawa side of Deschenes Rapids around 10:30. I spotted two Canada Geese (1 had an injured wing), some mallards and two female Common Goldeneye ducks feeding in the rapids near the Britannia Yacht Club While there a juvenile Bald Eagle circled over the rapids twice and I managed to get a couple of better, although distant, in flight shots on its second flight round.
