Today at about 1:45 pm I found a Le Conte’s Sparrow at Columbia Lake, Waterloo.
It was skulking through a goldenrod field north of the weather station,
occasionally popping up on a bush. I was able to follow it around the field for
about half an hour, only to have it disappear into some phragmites a few
minutes before another birder arrived. I’m sure it’s still around that area
since shortly after I lost it it began to rain again. As soon as the sun comes
back out, it ought to pop up again.

Columbia Lake is just north of the University of Waterloo, you can park off
Westmount Rd, near the corner of Westmount Rd and Columbia St.
