The male Barrow’s is still at East Point Park in Scarborough exactly where John Brett reported it yesterday at the “Point”. It was with several male Common Goldeneyes. Thank you John for this New Year bird.
To find the “Point”, park in main parking lot at end of road next to Highland Creek Treatment Plant. Take trail at southwest end of lot beside East Point Park Bird Sanctuary sign. Follow path to top of Bluffs and keep right along top of bluffs to a point where you have a panoramic view west along shoreline. This is about 450 metres from parking lot. On your left you will see where the snow is flattened. The Barrow’s was straight out on Lake. Please note that the edges of the Bluffs are unstable. In places there’s vegetation but nothing underneath. The beach and waves are a long way down!
